The organization I am considering writing for your grant proposal is Feeding America Tampa Bay. Feeding America is the largest domestic hunger relief organization in the country, consisting of a network of more than 200 food banks. The Tampa Bay Charity is part of a vital food distribution network throughout America. Working together with other fellow food banks, they have the ability to leverage food donor relationships and effectively transport food to feed hungry Americans.

I choose this organization because I truly believe Feeding America does good work. Feed those in need is very important to me. I also like the fact that this organization is local. I really like that it works hard here in my community to provide meals for members of my community.

There are too many children in my community going through their lives hungry. We are the richest country on earth and it does not make much sense to that hunger is such a major part of the lives of so many people. The program I would like to help found is The Food Bank’s Kids Café. This program according to Feeding America Tampa Bay (2012), “purpose is to provide a hot, nutritious meal in a safe and accessible environment to children who are facing food insecurity” (Kids Café, para. 2).

I believe there is a need for programs like The Food Bank’s. I also believe that it is not only a good idea to help fund this program but also my responsibility. If I help other programs along the way while raising money for Kids Café, then that is just icing on the cake.

Response – This is a very worthy cause! Who are some others in the community that you might be able to partner with to support this initiative? Funders absolutely love to see partnerships, and actually prefer to fund proposals that show strong backing from the community. How might you educate the community regarding the need for this program, so that they might, in turn, assist you financially and otherwise?
